STEP UP

For years I considered stepping out to do my “own thing”, I was basically dragging me feet. Complacent with being the side man has perks sometimes, like not being responsible for when a monitor goes out or when the drummer says he/she can’t make the show. My only obligation was to play my sax! I remember one show where the entire band didn’t show up for the gig, it was no big deal to me being that I would still get paid. The band leader was going nuts! As I was sitting there drinking orange juice, he asked if I could play something to amuse the audience. I played one song and the gig was over!

Things are a bit different now lol

Now I’m responsible for managing family life, career, health, spiritual life and a band!

I love what I do and I love the ppl I’m around… They encourage me to be a confident leader. Control is something that I had been fearful of for most of my life. Mostly because I didn’t have any lol Now that I’ve decided to take control over my future, the rewards have outweighed the risks. My aim is to be the best version of myself, one day at a time. #regardless
